Larry Mullholand

Executive Director

Larry is an ordained minister with approximately 30 years of experience in various capacities, including Project Director for Mission Journeys.  He has served with churches in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia, and was the camp manager of Pittsylvania Christian Service Camp in Chatham, VA.  He has helped with the development of short-term mission trips since 1987.  In 1991, he established Faith In Works Ministry, which constructed churches, Christian schools and children’s homes in Mexico.

Since 2011, Larry has served with Mission Journeys as a volunteer mission trip leader and has helped oversee the formation of several disaster/recovery mission trips.  He is also a general contractor, owning his own construction business since 1979.  He is licensed in building, remodeling and electrical technology in the states of Kentucky and Ohio.

Larry is married to Christine Martha (Rowe).  They have two adult children and one grandchild.
Ken Henderson

Founder/Director (Retired)

In 1970, Ken founded Teen Mission, USA, and in 1985, began Mission Journeys.  Ken graduated with a BA from Cincinnati Christian University with a major in Christian Education. He also finished all but four hours of his Masters Degree, including three weeks in Egypt and Israel studying Ancient History, Archeology and Egyptology with professors from Cincinnati (OH) Christian University, University of Cincinnati (OH), University of Cairo (Egypt) and Ozark Bible College (Joplin, MO).

Ken and his wife Carol live in Lexington, KY. They have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

Ken currently serves at Gardenside Christian Church (Lexington, KY) in the area of Adult Education and Volunteer Minister to Seniors.

Chuck Perry

Chuck has been involved with Mission Journeys since 1986. That year, he was part of the 2nd-ever “Mission Journey” where the team built a church building in two weeks on the island of Antigua.  He annually makes 1 to 2 short term mission trips.
He donates his time to help with mission trips, working directly with trip coordinators and missionaries and speaking on the ministry’s behalf. Chuck says his favorite activity is “preaching & teaching the Good News to those who are spiritually hungry.”

Since 1965, Chuck has held several successful preaching ministries in both Kentucky and Missouri. Currently, he ministers at the Peyton’s Lick Christian Church, Montgomery County, Kentucky. He is also an avid photographer, preserving history for numerous organizations as well as photographing University of Kentucky sporting events.

In 2011, he married Sherlan Austin of Nashville, TN, and they reside in north Lexington.

Dr. Wesley Stepp

Founder of Bible Institute for Christian Missions based in Jacksonville, FL; merged BICM with the Global Bible School Project in 2013.
Wayne King

Associate Director - GBS

Wayne King, has served on the Mission Journeys board for serveral years.  He has also worked with Wes Stepp in the area of teaching Leyte, Philippines.  He has taken on the expanded role with Mission Journeys as our Associate Director in charge of the Global Bible School (GBS)

Wayne began his career working in the aviation industry in the mid 1980’s as a flight instructor and aircraft maintenance technician.  In 1990, he started a rigorous and successful high school aviation program in Lexington, KY, remaining in that position for over 10 years.  In 2001, he started working for the state of Kentucky as a consultant in the Department of Education with his primary responsibilities of working with over 90 schools in a continuous improvement processes. In August of 2019, Wayne retired from the Kentucky Department of Education and started as the Associate Director of GBS at Mission Journeys.

While maintaining an impressive secular career, Wayne has also served as a “Tent Making” minister of three churches, one each in North Carolina, South Carolina and Kentucky.  He has extensive involvement in church leadership in several congregations, serving as youth leader, choir director, teacher, Sunday school superintendent, deacon and elder.  In addition to the work in the Philippines, he has been involved in mission work in Eastern Kentucky, Trinidad, and French Guiana.

Formal education includes a Bachelor degree from Winston-Salem Bible College in Missionary Aviation and Bible, Bachelor degree from the University of Kentucky in Education and a Master’s degree from the University at Omaha in Urban Studies and Aviation Management
Wayne and his wife, Kim, a kindergarten teacher, have been married for over 35 years.  They have a daughter, Deanna, who is currently a graduate college student.  He enjoys travel, flying and going to the movies.

Wayne brings a unique set of qualifications, interest and abilities to Mission Journeys.  We are grateful he has decided to help with this program that will expand our mission outreach.
