Mission Trip Update from Wayne:
Our Executive Director, Wayne King, is currently taking part in a five-and-a-half-week mission trip (August 7th-September 14th) to the African nations of Tanzania and Burundi.
TIME FLIES!
We are several days into our 2025 Africa trip. So far, we've conducted seminars in four locations in Tanzania:
Dar es Salaam: We spent two days in Dar es Salaam with a young church that was started a few years ago. They were excited about us coming after we had to cancel a one-day visit last year due to travel issues. The minister has great plans for moving the church forward and spreading the Gospel.
Kibaba: We spent one day in Kibaha. This is an International Bible School location. This location has several students enrolled in the school, and they were the primary attendees of our seminars. We have helped the minister with funds for building materials over the last 18 months to construct an office for his work with the school and the church he serves. I was moved when he took me into his new office, and he wept on my shoulder for our help in providing funds for construction materials!
Songwe: We spent two days in Songwe. This is a church plant of the Mbeya congregation. The man leading the work is gifted in leading worship and works as a construction worker to support the work and his family. This group is young in their faith, and we presented seminars that are designed to move them in their spiritual growth.
Mbeya: We spent three days in Mbeya. This is the home of Samuel, who is the minister of the church in this location and operates a school to prepare ministers. He is also the one who makes the preparations on the African side of our trips as to where we need to share the Gospel and present seminars. This is the fifth year I have worked in this location, so we present seminars that are focused on understanding the Bible, stewardship, and the role Christian parents play in raising their children. But Samuel wanted to present again one of our beginning seminars on being a Christian. This was presented on Friday and today, Sunday, one person came forward and wanted to be immersed. We also presented the Gospel message on the radio in Mbeya.
