Dan and his wife Maria (Toni) serve as full-time missionaries, leading the Barnabas Project, and living in the Central American country of Belize year-round since June 2010.
Through their partnership with Mission Journeys, the Underwoods have been able to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of many disadvantaged people in Belize, with an emphasis on helping “at-risk” kids. They are also hosts for short-term mission teams looking for a place to serve.
Since 2015, their base of operations has been the village of Cotton Tree located just outside the capital city of Belmopan. Dan preaches at a local church of about 50-60 people. This location and church have allowed the Barnabas Project to successfully minister in different parts of the country and other parts of Central America.
